About the Judging Process

The process of selecting a judging panel to evaluate the 40 Under 40 candidates has remained the same throughout the years. Puget Sound Business Journal selects a panel of high-powered, seasoned professionals with diverse business histories and deep knowlege of the business community.

The judges review and score all of the applications before meeting in person for a round-table discussion of the candidates. The deliberation process to select the final honorees is a difficult one and the ultimate choices often come down to small details. Before filling out the application, the Business Journal encourages you to read the Tips for Applying page of this Web site to get the inside scoops on what the judges are looking for.

After the judges have named their picks, the candidates are notified in early July about the selection.
