About the Judging Process

The process of selecting a judging panel to evaluate the 40 Under 40 candidates has remained the same throughout the years. Puget Sound Business Journal selects a panel of high-powered, seasoned professionals with diverse business histories and deep knowlege of the business community.

The judges review and score all of the applications before meeting in person for a round-table discussion of the candidates. The deliberation process to select the final honorees is a difficult one and the ultimate choices often come down to small details. After the judges have named their picks, the candidates are notified in early July about the selection.
