40 Under 40

This awards program honors individuals, rather than companies. If there is more than one partner or associate at your company who is interested in applying, please have them do so individually as we have had honorees from the same company in past years. You must be 39 years of age or younger through September 30, 2010.

All individuals nominated will be notified of their nomination and asked to complete an application beginning in May. All honorees will be notified by early July of judges’ results.

Tips from the Judges

Here are some tips that will help you with the application process:

1. Answer each question. Don't skip questions. Leaving questions blank could drastically reduce your chances of being selected.
2. Use complete sentences. Judges will check for spelling and grammar plus cohesive thought structure.
3. Give answers to what is asked. Think about your answer before you respond and make answers as concise as possible. Follow with an example only if necessary.
4. Have an active Web site. The judges have been known to check references and Web sites. If you have a Web site please make sure it is updated and works.
5. Do not provide supplemental materials.

7. Time sensitive application. Complete application in one sitting otherwise all material will be lost.
8. Saving Application. Information in application will not be saved. For your records, we recommend saving the text in a separate word document. After you press submit at the bottom of the electronic application form, it is received by the Puget Sound Business Journal.
9. Individual's Application. To be considered for one of the 40 award recipient spots, an application must be completed by the individual and not by his or her company. Nominations are not necessary to be an applicant.
10. Application Deadline. All applications must be submitted through the application link no later than midnight June 12th, 2009.
11. All individuals nominated will be notified of their nomination and asked to complete an application beginning in May. All honorees will be notified by early July of judges’ results.
